R.L. Willis is a producer & stereo mixing engineer, who is also one of the first officially-certified Dolby Atmos music mixing engineers by Dolby.

He studied stereo and immersive production, recording, and mixing at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA under their Music Production & Engineering and Electronic Production & Design programs.

R.L. was also a recording engineer at Virginia Beach Recording Arts, formerly artist and producer Timbaland’s Thomas Crown Studios.

After entering the Spatial Audio scene, R.L.’s credits have amassed 1.6B+ streams & 11.7B+ views. His Dolby Atmos mixes have managed to help records land on multiple Apple Music and Tidal editorial playlists, including “New Music Daily,” “Electronic in Spatial Audio,” “New in Indie,” and “Today’s Chill” among others. R.L. is among the Top 1% Streamed Mixing Engineers globally for 2025 on the muso.ai charts.

In addition to his career as a mixing engineer, R.L. has served as an audio director and sound designer for immersive theme park experiences, an assistant composer for various feature films and TV documentary series, and a podcast producer and audio editor for a globally distributed cooking & lifestyle podcast.
